A web-of-repositories is a federation of diverse nodes where communication, connections, and data exchange are multi-directional. Each node has a unique sphere-of-context with technical, organizational and social dimensions. In this poster we explore a multi-repository data landscape.</p> Computer Science Informatics Information Management Information Technology Site Science CCE Fri, 21 Aug 2009 00:03:19 +0000 Lynn Yarmey 387 at http://asm2009.lternet.edu SPAN – A Network Providing Sensor-to-Database End-to-End Services http://asm2009.lternet.edu/2009/workgroups/span-%E2%80%93-network-providing-sensor-database-end-end-services <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-wg-report"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="field-label-inline-first"> Final Report (Required, .pdf format only) :&nbsp;</div> <div class="filefield-file"><img class="filefield-icon field-icon-application-pdf" alt="application/pdf icon" src="http://asm2009.lternet.edu/sites/all/modules/filefield/icons/application-pdf.png" /><a href="http://asm2009.lternet.edu/sites/asm2009.lternet.edu/files/sites/asm.lternet.edu/files/working_groups/337/report/SPAN%20final%20report.pdf.pdf" type="application/pdf; length=77884" title="SPAN final report.pdf.pdf">SPAN: A network providing Sensor-to-Database End-to-End Services Final Report</a></div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-userreference field-field-wg-organizer"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="field-label-inline-first"> Organizer:&nbsp;</div> <a href="http://asm2009.lternet.edu/user/15349" title="View user profile.">Terry Benzel</a> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-userreference field-field-wg-co-organizers"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="field-label-inline-first"> Co-organizer(s):&nbsp;</div> <a href="http://asm2009.lternet.edu/user/15344" title="View user profile.">Sridhar Gullapalli</a> </div> </div> </div> <p>In recent years, advances in sensor network technology have shown great promise to revolutionize environmental data collection. Performing quality analysis on high volume, real-time data from sensor networks, flux towers and instrumented platforms is a major challenge, though, and can become a limiting factor in managing these data. Software developed at the Georgia Coastal Ecosystems LTER Site (GCE Data Toolbox for MATLAB) has proven very effective for quality control of both real-time and legacy data, as well as interactive analysis during post processing and synthesis.</p> <p><a href="http://asm2009.lternet.edu/2009/posters/dynamic-rule-based-quality-control-framework-real-time-sensor-data" target="_blank">read more</a></p> Computer Science Informatics Information Management Information Technology Statistics Site Science GCE Thu, 28 May 2009 16:39:47 +0000 Wade Sheldon 43 at http://asm2009.lternet.edu Enabling the LTER Network Information System through the Provenance Aware Synthesis Tracking Architecture http://asm2009.lternet.edu/2009/posters/enabling-lter-network-information-system-through-provenance-aware-synthesis-tracking-ar <div class="field field-type-computed field-field-poster-number"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="field-label-inline-first"> Poster Number:&nbsp;</div> 7 </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-userreference field-field-poster-presenter"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="field-label-inline-first"> Presenter/Primary Author:&nbsp;</div> <a href="http://asm2009.lternet.edu/users/mark-servilla" title="View user profile.">Mark Servilla</a> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-poster-authors"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="field-label-inline-first"> Co-Authors:&nbsp;</div> James Brunt </div> <div class="field-item even"> <div class="field-label-inline"> Co-Authors:&nbsp;</div> Duane Costa </div> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="field-label-inline"> Co-Authors:&nbsp;</div> Inigo San Gil </div> </div> </div> <p>The LTER Network Information System (NIS) is the primary channel for exposing site-based data and metadata through a unified interface for use by value-added applications that include synthesis projects at both local and national scales, and is a core component of the Strategic Cyberinfrastructure Plan.
